Tuula Tenkanen 11th in Hyeres
Tuula Tenkanen had again an excellent regatta. She won the first race of the last day and sailed in general well at gold fleet finals. Her final scores were 8th, 13th, 1st and 13th and her overall rank was 11th.
Tuula won also Finnish Sailing Federation´s national qualifiers for the 2008 Olympic games in China. Now Tuula starts her final preparations for the Olympic games together with her coach Minna Aalto.
In May Tuula will race in Holland, in June there will be a training period in China, Championship regatta in July in Belgium or Denmark and then Olympic games in China in August.
Hyeres regatta starts
Hyeres Olympic classes regatta starts tomorrow. Tuula Tenkanen and Mattias Lindfors will race in this classical olympic classes event this year. This regatta is especially important for Tuula, because this is the last qualifier regatta for 2008 Olympic Games for Team Finland.
Tuula is leading Finnish Sailing Fedaration´s national qualifiers with eight points advantage to experienced Sari Multala. Tuula finished 12th(10th country) in the Laser Radial World championships in March.
All the preparations have been done and Tuula is ready and well prepared for the regatta. Minna Aalto is coaching Tuula in Hyeres.

Final racing day
Tuula Tenkanen finished 12th overall. Great result for 17-year athlete, who was also the best under 21 and "Best rookie" in this regatta. Tuula was honoured with these special prizes during the closing ceremony on Thursday night .
There were 116 competitors from 40 countries participating this World Champuionship regatta. Both Tuula and her coach Minna Aalto were very happy about the result. Now it is time for rest and physical training according the plans made earlier this year. The next big regatta for Tuula will be "Semaine Olimpique Francaise" in Hyeres, France beginning 20th of April
Fifth racing day, first final day
Tuula sailed today very well finishing 12th, 10th and 14th in the gold fleet final series. With her constant sailing she was able to climb up into 12th position overall. Sailing conditions were stable and good during the whole day: wind between 10-15 knots and also some waves. Tomorrow is the last day of racing and two more final races will be sailed starting at 10 am local time. Complete results can be found from www.takapunaworlds.org
Fourth racing day
Again good day for Tuula. Two more qualification races were sailed and Tuula finished today 6th and 26th. She is now on 30th position. Racing continues tomorrow and the fleet will be split into gold and silver fleets. 58 best continue racing in the gold fleet and all the rest in the silver fleet.

MA Sailing Team's Laser sailors have been training in February in Mediterranean. Our girls Annina, Heidi and Tuula were training in Hyeres with Austrian top Radial sailors. Minna Aalto was coaching there. Mattias Lindfors took part in Team Denmark's training camp in CAR Murcia. He was able to have good training with top Danish Laser standard sailors.
